. . .and a short Barker addendum. . .

All true, all true. The night we met Clive Barker was an auspicious night, October 7, 1987, important to us because Oct. 7 is the night of Edgar Allan Poe’s death. When informed of this fact, Barker signed his brand-new copy of Weaveworld with the illustration below. He explained, with a mischievous grin, that the bizarre figure he drew was, in fact, “Poe’s unknown gay brother.”  This was, mind you, quite a few years before Barker himself came out.  It’s hard not to see precognition at work.
